Essential Functions: 
 
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Transcribes from Dictaphone, handwritten notes or dictation and types letters, memoranda, and reports as assigned.

  • Receives, reviews and verifies documents, records and forms for accuracy, completeness and conformance to applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Processes documents in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains expenditure records of office/unit budget; prepares and coordinates budget transfer requests as necessary; tracks expenditures from each budget line item.
  • Prepares and processes all purchase orders; verifies amounts to pay partial and final invoices; makes copies and keeps accurate records of all payments.
  • Prepares rooms for meetings; arranges for necessary materials and refreshments.
  • Establishes and maintains a variety of office filing and record-keeping systems including inventory data collection systems.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
  • Orders and distributes office supplies and materials.
  • Gathers, reviews, and compiles information and prepares accurate and comprehensive reports and surveys with deadlines as assigned.
  • Serves as clerical support to the Department. Schedules appointments; types letters and notices; prepares materials and reports as needed.
  • Maintains records and prepares notices and documents.
  • Prepares correspondence independently on matters not requiring personal attention of directors.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality on all job-related matters.
  • Prepares a variety of communicative subject matter that may include privileged and highly sensitive material.
  • Plans, develops and implements office procedures.
  • Makes mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Maintains numerous and varied budgets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education Background & Skill Requirements
  • Business degrees in finance, accounting and marketing
  • Accounting Knowledge CPA 2 or ACCA
  • Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)
  • Exposure to trainings or Courses in records organization, corporate communications and human resource management
  • 5 years of relevant work experience

Personal Skills/Attributes:

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of a University Degree in a Business or Finance related discipline; Possession of the ACI Dealing certificate is a definite advantage.
  • A minimum of 4 years in active treasury environment as a foreign exchange dealer.
  • Excellent MS Excel worksheet computation skills and good knowledge of MS OFFICE suite.

  • Coordinate at the field level the execution of the project budget expenditures in line with the approved budget
  • Compile and analyse accounting reports, records and other data to maintain expenditure controls and also determine the financial resources required to implement specific programmes
  • In consultation with the branch coordinator, ensure timely request of funds from the HQ and disbursement of funds according to the planned activities

Minimum Qualifications

Job Purpose / Summary:
 
The Accountant shall be responsible for executing systems, procedures and controls in the entire accounting function covering the accounting policies, procedures and control, manner of record maintenance and reporting requirements.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Make payments to suppliers and maintain accounts for creditors
  • Receive and process all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment
  • Oversee the management and preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Ensure filing of all payments made and record all financial transactions for easy retrieval and reference
  • Prepare payroll and process statutory deductions of NSSF, NHIF and PAYE and remit as per set timelines
  • Prepare and review detailed budgets for approval.
  • Make regular reports to the board on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets.
  • Apply accounting system compliance with generally accepted accounting principles for auditing purposes.
  • Act as the custodian of accounting records, ledgers, revenues and operating expenses
  • To manage and oversee the internal audit process and be in-charge of reviewing accounting and administrative controls
  • Oversee clearance of debts and arrears within agreed timelines
  • Ensure all taxation and legislative requirements are complied with at all times.
  • Management of the fixed asset register
  • Demonstrate clear integrity and a sense of ethics and responsibility to the farm and its employees on a daily basis, serving as a model for others
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Required Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting
  • Must have a CPA (II) Sec 4
  • Minimum 2 years farm management work experience
  • Good Interpersonal skills i.e. Influencing, communication and negotiation skills,
  • Problem solving and Analytical skills
  • Decisive decision maker.

Purpose of Position     

The primary purpose of the position is to perform audits as assigned by the Audit Manager. 

The auditor assists the Audit Manager in review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for which the funds were given.

The incumbent performs audits that are in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA), the US Government Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAGAS) for US Government Funding and World Vision’s Financial Manual Internal Audit policies and procedures.
 
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
  • Should have a university degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business or related field. A graduate degree in Accounting or Management is an added advantage.
  • Should have related professional qualifications with minimum of CPA or ACCA.
  • Should have a minimum of two years’ working experience in audit or accounting. Accounting experience within WVK is an added advantage.
  • Should have good communication and quantitative skills. Strong analytical skills are also a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to travel extensively within the country and internationally up to 50% of the time.
  • Must have good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems, preferably Sun Systems & Vision. Must be computer literate in using Microsoft Office programs.

  • Leading the development and implementation of the Corporation’s operations, customer service, marketing, supply and distribution strategies;
